The Hyper-Accelerated Dragon arises after 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 g6 (ECO B27). Black fianchettoes the g7 bishop as early as possible, before developing the knights, for quick play down the long diagonal.
The very early move order lets Black dodge some dangerous systems of the ordinary Dragon, but it also allows White to take the centre at once with d4 (or play c4 with the Maroczy Bind).
A flexible and slightly provocative treatment of the Dragon, for anyone who likes the fianchettoed bishop with Black and wants to bypass the memorised main lines.
